RAGDOLL CHARACTERISTICS

The Ragdoll breed is known for their brilliant blue eyes. The name "Ragdoll" comes from their tendency to go limp and relax when picked up. Ragdoll cats are known to follow you around. These cats LOVE that they are loved! They get along with other pets very well. Ragdolls also like water!! "A CAT THAT LIKES WATER!!!?", YES!! They enjoy running water, baths and splashing their paws in water bowls. Ragdoll cats have a very docile, floppy, calm temperament. Ragdolls are fun loving, intelligent and gentle cats. They are very affectionate, patient, playful and LOVE to be handled. Ragdoll cats have a very strong sturdy body. Fully grown can wight between 10-20 pounds. Ragdolls are known for their blue eyes, but not all Ragdolls have blue eyes. This breed does have semil long hair and very plush coat. The are known as " THE GENTLE GIANTS!"

RAGDOLL COLORS

RED- Also, known as the "Flame Point" rag doll. Cream with red markings. Apricot coloring.

SEAL-Deep darkening colors on the points.

CHOCOLATE- Dark chocolate brown coloring.

BLUE- Diluted form of seal, dark bluish gray coloring.

LILAC- Diluted form of chocolate, light bluish gray. Also, has light blusihs gray or pinkish coloring at the points.

CREAM- Diluted form of red.

 

RAGDOLL PATTERNS

COLORPOINT- Darkening at nose, ears, tail and paws (sometimes even stomach).

MITTED- White paws, abdomen and some can have white on chins.

BICOLOR- White legs, inverted V on face, known as the "Van" Pattern.

 

SECONDARY PATTERNS

LYNX- Variations mimicking the tabby markings.

TORTIE- Mottled with red and or cream on both, mimicks the calico.

TORBIE- Tortied patterns combned with tabby patterns.
